Default HoM valor related stuff

It's probably been mentioned to death, and put to death plenty of times in the past.

but with the valor monument only accepting torment, destroyer and opressor weapons, it seems a bit silly to me.

now this is just my personal oppinion but i think we should be allowed to add green weapons aswell, at stretch golds like my fellblade and shadow blade i've been using for yonks now. (5 years)

because to me the destroyer, torment and opressor stuff does not really look that good. apart from the torment shield none of the things we can add really does not appeal to me.

now this may just be pure projection on my part but i do believe my Kannaxai's Edge and Victo's Battle axe are "leet" enough to be shown along with my other gold's i've earned through playtime.

i'd truly love the option to add weapons to my hall i've actually had with me thoughout my time in GW.

Makes perfect sense having greens included, anyone noticed how greens are discarded now? the monument of valor needs more weapons, period, the weapons we are allowed in there are ugly as hell.

One thing i don´t understand is that for GW2 we get a Fellblade and a Stygian Reaver although we can´t put them in the HoM?

How about celestial weapons? Some of those are my personal favorites.

Way too late to make such a big change to it now, even though I would love to have Celestial weapons in there.

Would like to add greens and some other weapons too but to what end ?

Be nice to display them and if you could use them in gw2 then also yes.

But for them to add points to the HOM in which case they would need to severely limit the points you could add from such weapons.

Maybe any 10 greens gives a point same for the others.
I doubt it would be popular or indeed fair if you could gain too many points this way.

hom is prestigious, if they let greens in people will max that monument for about 10k, its not supposed to be easy.

yea adding green will be way to easy to max out the monument.

Regardless of skins, you may think that tormented/destroyer/oppressor items are horrible but there are people out there that love the skins.

Too easy if they add greens, the point of it is to be prestigious as mentioned before.

It's already at the stage where it doesn't need to be altered again, see the reward calc.

Since we now know how the HoM reward points work, /notsigned. It's not like you are getting those weapons in GW2. There is no point to it

Deldrimor Weaponry, Forgotten Weaponry, Factions greens (on par with Destroyer gear), as well as Dhuum's Scythe, the Traveler's Staff, Shiro's Blades, the Rose Focus, a green Ghostly Hero's eternal sword, Urgoz's Bow, Kanaxai's Axe, one of Mallyx's wands, the Spear of the Hierophant, and an appropriately cool green Hammer and Shield.

That would round out the aesthetic choices with enough variety, methinks, to represent enough content and enough weapon styles to really flesh out the monument.

only complaint I have about the HOM is regards the rewards a few of us were discussing the range of rewards tonight.

I run a Necro as my prime character and it would have been nice to have something that fitted the theme.
I thought since the necro is one of the most popular classes they might have catered for them.

Quite a bit for Warrior in the way of weapons, Rangers get 2 bows and 3 animal companions then its 3 just general caster items can only hope that they warp in skin to suit the class that uses them.

So the Knarled Staff and Clawed Scepter can somehow represent a fire based Ele type or a Necro and so on for all casters.

Suppose since they are gifts I should just be gracious and accept them as they are but it does irritate me.

well i can fully understand normal greens you farm, but the canthan elite mission greens i'm still a bit hazy on.

i mean to say those are still a bit hard to get for normal players.

so in the end if those and at the very least end game greens could be added it would be nice.

probably won't happen but one can hope

You also get daggers as a Necro/Ele.

Honestly, there is one weapon type in the HoM for every single weapon in GW2 (look and count, there is 1 axe, 1 shortbow, 1 longbow, 1 greatsword, 1 sword, etc etc etc). If you are complaining about the weapon distribution in the HoM, you might as well be complaining about the weapon distribution in GW2's professions entirely.

I think any and all weapons should be able to be added to the monument - however keep the reward for the HOM calculator the same.

so /signed on the condition that only tormented, destroyer, and opressor weapons count.

Edit: Oh and same for armor sets too, but only have the elite ones count for calculator.

What would the point of that be? My understanding was that we won't get what we put in, we get what the HoM points correspond to. Putting things in that don't contribute to points would do nothing.

@OP /notsigned. Greens are common and not prestigous. Nor are golds, with the exception of a few rare skins. It would just make the Valor monument much simpler to fill (unless they multiplied the amount of weapons required by 3-5, which I wouldn't prefer).
